  • KND SAILING PERFORMANCE is looking for a full-stack web development intern to help them work on new online performance analysis tools. The internship is to be based in Valencia (Spain) in 2019, last a minimum of 6 months, and could lead to a job offer.

  • STARS & STRIPES TEAM USA The fifth challenger accepted by Defender Team New Zealand was announced on Thursday. The American challengers are based in Long Beach and will be led by Taylor Canfield. They have already begun building their AC75 in Michigan. The design team is lead by JB Braun ex Oracle Team USA
  • THE IMOCA CLASS has unveiled its 2019 calendar, with six events, three of which will count for the Imoca Globe Series: the Valencia Globe Series (pending confirmation), the Rolex Fastnet Race and the Transat Jacques Vabre. Note that the Grand Prix Guyader will include, as in 2018, an offshore course that should be a circuit of 1,000 miles between Douarnenez and Brest.
  • JAMES SPITHILL had to give up his Rolex Sydney-Hobart hopes leaving Comanche because of his elbow injury that has forced him to have surgery.
  • TRANSPAC. The organizers of the upcoming Transpac (Los Angeles-Honolulu race starting July 10) announced that the entry record dating back to 1979 had already been broken with 82 entries to date.
  • MARSEILLE will be the Mediterranean start port for the Transquadra 2020-2021, as it was for the last edition. Lorient should host the start for Atlantic fleet.
  • CHEMINÉES POUJOULAT have become official partner of Tour Voile for the next three years.
  • LORINA have stopped their the sailing sponsorship after their purchase by the Danish brand Royal Unibrew; Team Vannes Agglo will only enter one Diam 24 this year.
  • THOMAS RUYANT has confirmed the build of a new Verdier Imoca for the next Vendée Globe at Persico in Italy. It is scheduled for a launch this summer. The sailor from Dunkirk has Laurent Bourguès (technical coordination), François Pernelle (head of the design office), Antoine Koch (appendices design and sail plan) and Marcus Hutchinson with him.
  • AMERICAN MAGIC, U.S. Challenger for the 36th America’s Cup, today announced that the Port of Pensacola will serve as the team’s winter training base in late 2018 and early 2019
  • AZIMUT has launched the new version of the Figaro Bénéteau class website and a digital passport for the Figaro 3 that will track each monotype.
